Ligero Wheelworks makes ultra light weight, hand built wheels for cycling enthusiasts. Troy Watson is the brains behind building wheels, and he and I had studios next to each other back in the early 2000s. Being a fan of anything on wheels, I clicked with Troy and decided to take on any print or digital needs he had for fun. Now in 2016, I still support Troy with any design needs he might have, from photography to marketing, to a simple valve sticker. Just don't ask me to build you a set of wheels!
Objective
To provide a refreshed look and awareness to the Ligero brand, through a revised logomark, lifestyle photography, web and social presence.
Result
Awareness around the Ligero brand increased worldwide through solving all of the objectives mentioned above. Equally as important, sales and additional international partnerships increased as well. At various times a year, new products announced via social media channels and appearances in industry related conferences create strategic lifts for the brand.

For the release of the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45, blacQube was tasked with making a unique digital experience that sells the versatility, style and performance that only Mercedes-AMG can deliver in a compact SUV.
For the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45, I created an experience that gives the user a complete overview, from the beginning, of how owning a GLA 45 provides performance for any situation.
Placing the vehicle into different scenarios, features of the vehicle become available to be explored to educate the user on the AMG inspired enhancements that make this vehicle so great.
Objective
To digitally introduce the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 to the worldwide market, create awareness via product introduction on the global Mercedes-AMG website and provide a digital experience with a Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 webspecial.
Result
Vehicle promotion through touts and visual indicators on the landing page of the global Mercedes-AMG website drove traffic both to the GLA 45 webspecial and the global website visualizer. Providing a unique web special focusing on versatility and performance raised awareness around a new era of 4-cyclinder, turbocharged compact vehicles for Mercedes-AMG. Cross connecting vehicle content from digital web presences and the Mercedes-AMG social media channels lifted an overall digital awareness for both the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 AND the NGCC Platform (Next Generation of Compact Cars) that the company was beginning to introduce.

For the Mercedes-AMG global website, I was tasked at coming up with a completely new experience for a user to consume a 360° vehicle view. I saw this as a vertical scrolling experience, where the user could quickly scroll through quick hit topics on the vehicle, and if desired, expand for more information.
The end result displays a robust look at every model that Mercedes-AMG manufactures, and in the end, is very comprehensive without being too overwhelming for the amount of content they wanted to feature.

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a big seller in many markets around the world. In Germany, sales were not on par with what was expected. To counteract this, it was decided that an awareness webspecial needed to be marketed, to show the versatility of the GT vehicle. I created and oversaw a simple, quick-hit, German-only digital experience that educated a potential GT owner on the benefits of owning this amazing vehicle.

The Mercedes-AMG CLS 63 has been an icon in the "4-door Coupé" genre since it hit the market. blacQube was tasked with the creation of a webspecial to speak to the audience of this vehicle AND to showcase the different variations - the CLS 63, CLS 63 S and the Shooting Brake.
Taking a concept that this vehicle belongs in the hands of a determined and accomplished professional, we scripted a unique story. While showing the car in motion, we spoke to both the attitude of the CLS 63 and the driver. With the edition of parallax motion and environmental overlays, an exciting and informative presentation of the vehicle was accomplished.

Mercedes-AMG has a reputaion of hand-building some of the world's best engines for years now. What some gear heads do not know, is that Mercedes-AMG makes a V12 powerhouse for Pagani vehicles exclusively. It is a complete work of art, and something that Pagani can be proud of putting into their vehicles.
blacQube was tapped to make a webspecial that showcases how the power of an AMG engine drives the beauty of an Italian vehicle masterpiece. The result came out quite nice, if I say so myself.

The AMG Driving Academy provides many levels of race-inspired instruction, with a wide variety of Mercedes-AMG vehicles to experience. To provide a global hub for information around the many programs available, blacQube was tasked with creating a website that showed the excitement around the brand, scheduling information and how to connect with the many worldwide events.
We decided that the use of energetic, full-screen imagery that showed vehicles in motion, participation and enthusiasm would be the main storyteller for the site. Building upon this foundation, we plugged in content for all available programs, events and schedules. The result is a beautiful display of automotive excitement and energy.

To provide a comprehensive representation of the vehicles, courses and benefits that the AMG Driving Academy offers. To provide dates and venues of all events, depending on a region.
Result
By creating a high-energy, multi-language web presence and producing content for all of Mercedes-AMG's social media channels, we increased global awareness of the AMG Driving Academy courses and increased participation worldwide.

The C-Class vehicle has been an icon for Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG for years. With a new engine, body style and attitude that only AMG can deliver, it was time to digitally market this vehicle in a new aggressive way. With several engine variants, and a wagon version, we mixed lifestyle, performance and a fresh experience into this webspecial that really showed how a 4-door sedan can still be an animal for your performance lifestyle.

To publicly release the new Mercedes-AMG SL 63 & 65 vehicles, blacQube was tasked with creating a webspecial that would celebrate the liberating feeling of an open top vehicle and the excitement of a roadster.
Our chosen concept resulted in a motion-heavy experience where we moved in and out of the vehicle into multiple points of interests and scenarios. We gave the user a complete overview of the vehicle, showing lifestyle and performance.
With the ability to switch between the SL 63 and the SL 65 in each scenario, we were able to speak to the similarities and differences of the SL, and provide awareness for the potential buyer.

Cigarette Racing Team has been a client for many years with blacQube. They build some of the best, hand-built performance boats on the market. Their worldwide presence and reputation is something that other performance boat manufactures dream to have. As demand for more seating on a cigarette boat platform grew, the SD 1040 boat was made. It combines twin stern-drive performance Mercury Racing engines into an open concept boat with all the luxury you expect from a custom build. Standard, is the Cigarette-made 180° Panoramic Hardtop, that provides unaltered views for the driver.
To market to the lifestyle and personas that would purchase this product (usually as a second boating option), I developed a digital presence that displays this vehicle in an array of situations for every applicable lifestyle.

An old experience, but just because it was built in Flash doesn't mean that this wasn't a great experience for its time. The Black Series versions of Mercedes-AMG vehicles are unique. Track ready and inspired on AMG's race heritage, these vehicles turn heads. blacQube collectively decided to digitally market this vehicle in a sinister way - inspired by gritty comic books and aggressive imagery. The result was well received.

What is the heartbeat of every Mercedes-AMG vehicle? The one man, one engine philosophy, and the highly crafted engines that come out of Affalterbach, Germany.
blacQube was tasked to create a digital experience around the M157 Engine - a 5.5-liter, V8 Biturbo with an ECO start/stop function. We decided to build an experience that not only entertained, but informed users on an extremely technical item. With flipping panels and motion built around a cube, we displayed technical information, videos and specifications around a piece of mechanical art.

To digitally market the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupé to the international markets, we decided to build an online experience where we use a linear video to tell the story of how the C 63 AMG Coupé checks all the boxes of performance. At various checkpoints during the video journey, the user can pause the video, explore details and expand to learn about features that make this vehicle great.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS model is revolutionary, as it is the first 4-door coupé ever made. Throw a hand-built AMG engine into it, you have an icon. For the newly remodeled Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG, blacQube was tasked with making a stylish, performance oriented digital experience to introduce this new product to the world. Using Flash and a paparazzi approach to this beautiful icon, we checked all the boxes. Multi-layered and highly-addictive, exploring this webspecial was well received. No longer available to the public, but full of motion and sound, the images have to now do it justice.

The SL model from Mercedes-Benz has been a roadster icon from way, way back. People aspire to own a 2-seater filled with the latest luxury and performance that only the SL can offer. Mercedes-AMG takes the SL, drops a hand-built powerhouse of an engine into it, enhances everything mechanical to make it track-ready and then there you have it - a super-hero is born. We decided to digitally market this vehicle in a hyper-space arena, playing upon the speed and performance that AMG delivers in a vehicle.

How does one introduce both a new engine AND a newly redesigned vehicle? This challenge was accepted by blacQube, where we decided to take an athletic approach to the situation. Using the engine as a training session, and the complete vehicle as the main event, we created a digital experience showcasing the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG as an all around athlete of performance.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG became an immediate icon due to its gullwing-style doors and track-ready performance. Making the SLS a convertible, well, turned a few heads. Tapped to create a digital experience marketing this new convertible option roadster was no easy task. We decided to digitally display this vehicle the way the buyer would use the vehicle - top down while enjoying expansive views. The result turned out great and the awards we received on it made it a hit.

To build the world-wide digital presence for this vehicle, blacQube immediately knew that it had to educate the public on every unique aspect of this performace vehicle. Using a linear, video-style approach complete with a timeline, blacQube was able to take a user through a journey of race-inspired technology that embodies the SLS AMG from start to finish.
